Assignments and Sentences
Being the second last week students were already handing in their final assignments. Whilst they were doing that others were doing a worksheet about run on sentences. Mr Hanlon then got the students to grab hand out on sentence fragments and incomplete thoughts. Students had ten minutes to complete this page. They then went through their answers.
Shakespear
Mr Hanlon then showed his students a video about trailers. But before they were ti do that they were to make three collums about the three trailers and what moods the create. They then talked about the story and their plots. He then talked about Shakespears language and what his words mean.

essay time
Students were to begin their essays today in class and were given the entire class to complete as much of it as it could. Students were given help by everyone through-out the class.

Poetry and Asignments
Poetry
Mr hanlon read out sections of the students poems to start of this class. Students then were handed out a new poem to read, it was called Terron Terror. They were asked to look for literal devices whilst reading. Students were asked to define Onomatopoeia.
Assignment time
Students then were handed out a hand out titles Creative Assignment and Mr Hanlon talked about it with his class
Homework; students were to read Chapter 7 of the outsiders by next class.

TPCAS Outside Ain't My Best
The Outsiders
Students started off the class by reviewing Chapter 6 of the Outsiders and going over it together. The class then added notes to their character charts.
Not My Best Side TPCAS
Students then got out the story"Not my best side". Students then flipped the sheet and read "The Hunger"and then talked about it together. They then went through and wrote what language was used. My Hanlon then handed out the students a yellow sheet containg how to TPCAS. They then learnt about TPCAS and applied it to the poem The Hunger - notes were on the board. Students were then told to finish the poem by the end of the class as it was to be submitted.
Homework;
-Make sure all work is up to date
- Make sure you understand everything that is currently being taught
**If students did not finish the assigned work in class they were to stay in at lunch to finish it**

So much literature so little time.
Story Story Story
Students started off the class by going through chapter five of the current book their reading and summing it up i what happening in that sentence.
The Highway Man
-Next students were split into small groups and were assigned questions ranging from why is it mysterious, what is the theme and how does this poem make you feel. Once done the students were asked to read out their answers and have the answers written down on their sheet.
-Students were then asked to find a simile alliteration, hyperbole, imagery, metaphor and personification in the Highway Man. While doing this they were asked to write down the definition of imagery and personification. Students were then asked to hand it in if it was completed, if not do it next day.

- Make sure you understand everything that is currently being taught
- All classwork must be complete

Oh So Poetic
Em-PHA-sis
Students started off the class by getting a sheet of paper containing a story called "The Highway", students then found their dustings and were asked to find and then read out definitions that were inside their literary terms section. They then went on to talk about what poems they've read and what kind of poems they know about. Mr Hanlond wrote down various terms on the board.
